Aaron Nola Named Opening Day Starter For Phillies
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies manager Joe Girardi has announced that starting pitcher Aaron Nola will be the team's opening day starter against the Atlanta Braves on Thursday, April 1. The announcement certainly isn't a surprise. Nola has been the team's ace for the last three years now. Last year, he went 5-5 with a 3.28 ERA and 1.079 while averaging a career-best 12.1 K/9. He's a great target for fantasy managers in the middle or at the end of the second round. He'll start the season with a daunting matchup against a formidable Braves lineup. Girardi also announced that the team's second starter will be Zack Wheeler.
