Aaron Judge 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Defending AL MVP Ready To Anchor Fantasy Squads
9 mins agoNew York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge overcame an icy start to set career-best marks with a .322 batting average, .458 on-base percentage, .701 slugging percentage, and 144 RBI to fuel a second AL MVP win. The 32-year-old crushed all splits, logging a weighted runs created plus (wRC+) figure above 200 against both left- and right-handed pitchers, as well as at home and on the road. The big story was how Judge hit only .180 with three home runs through his first 24 games, suffering a .232 BABIP with a 47.5 percent hard-hit rate per Statcast. Fears were compounded by lingering doubt over his toe's health following a collision with Dodger Stadium's wall foundation in 2023. Then the switch flipped and Judge had a .349 average with 55 HRs, a .395 BABIP, and a 63.3 percent hard-hit rate in his final 134 contests. He even went a perfect 10-for-10 on steal attempts (only three SB in '23). With fears quelled, Judge's early ADP has him going third in most NFBC drafts and that's also where he stands in RotoBaller's early rankings. While the 32-year-old will miss having Juan Soto in the lineup, he'll now enjoy a full season of Jazz Chisholm Jr. with newcomers Cody Bellinger and Paul Goldschmidt as well. ATC projections line him up for 46 home runs with 225 R+RBI and a healthy .282 average. Now that baseline health expectations have been reset, fantasy managers should confidently tee up Judge with a top pick in 2025 drafts.
