Aaron Ekblad Suffers A Lower-Body Injury
3 years agoFlorida Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad managed to spend less than one minute on the ice in Friday's 3-0 win over Anaheim, exiting the game with a lower-body injury. It looked like Ekblad hurt his right leg at the start of the first period when there was a collision between him, teammate Aleksander Barkov and Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler. It was only a year ago when Ekblad suffered a season-ending left leg injury, so there were obviously big concerns after the incident, especially with Ekblad being unable to get off the ice on his own. Luckily, Panthers head coach Andrew Brunette had a positive update after the game, saying that it's likely a short-term thing. Ekblad, who's had a big year with 57 points in 61 games, will go through further evaluations on Saturday.
