Aaron Ekblad Becomes Florida's All-Time Top-Scoring Defenseman
3 years agoFlorida Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad made history Thursday night against Vegas in a 5-3 loss, handing out three assists to become the top-scoring defenseman in franchise history. Ekblad now sits on 291 career points through 553 regular-season games. Robert Svehla previously topped the list with 290 points in 573 games. It's a major achievement by Ekblad, as he's only 26 years old and has missed a lot of time over the last couple of seasons. He's already posted his new record with 57 points this season and it's only a matter of time before Ekblad sets the team record for most points in a season by a defenseman. It currently belongs to Keith Yandle with 62 points that he managed in 2018-19.
