A.J. Pollock To Have Surgery, Out Indefinitely
6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder A.J. Pollock will have surgery on his right elbow on Thursday and will be out indefinitely. A procedure on Tuesday revealed that the bursa sac in his elbow was the site of a bacterial infection he'd been dealing with since last week. Doctors will also remove a metal plate in his elbow that has been in there since 2016. Manager Dave Roberts said he "absolutely" expects Pollock to play again this year and "doesn't liken it" to his previous recovery periods when he had surgery on the same elbow in 2010 and 2016. It'll be an extended absence from Pollock, but he warrants stashing in most leagues despite his cold start to the season. Alex Verdugo should see everyday playing time now and needs to be owned in all leagues.
