49ers Trade With Vikings To Select Brandon Aiyuk
5 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers traded up with the Minnesota Vikings late in the first round and selected Arizona State wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk with the No. 25 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on Thursday. The 49ers were scheduled to pick again at pick No. 31. Aiyuk has a wingspan of 81 inches, so he's got incredibly long arms, which should help him win contested catches against the best cornerbacks. He could become a matchup nightmare against opposing secondaries for head coach Kyle Shanahan. The Niners have a lot of bodies on the receiver depth chart, but outside of Deebo Samuel last year, they didn't get much production. Aiyuk could become the No. 2 wideout in his rookie season as a great playmaker, and he can also contribute in the return game. Just don't overspend in fantasy drafts in an offense that still relies heavily on the running game.
