49ers Sign Jordan Matthews
6 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers agreed to an undisclosed one-year deal with free-agent wide receiver Jordan Matthews on Thursday. The 49ers are hoping the 26-year-old can bolster their receiving corps that didn't have a player go over 500 yards in 2018. Matthews averaged 75 catches and 891 yards per season from 2014 through 2016 but had just 45 catches for 582 yards in his last two seasons. The former second-round pick could provide the Niners with a nice red-zone target on a team that ranked last in red-zone touchdown percentage in 2018. If healthy, Matthews could be a surprise in deeper fantasy leagues.
