49ers Cautiously Optimistic About Jerick McKinnon
5 years agoSan Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch said all the signs are encouraging for running back Jerick McKinnon (knee) to make a strong recovery from his knee issues. McKinnon was signed by the 49ers two years ago to be their primary pass-catching third-down back, but he has yet to play a single snap for them because of his knee injury. McKinnon has struggled with making cuts while running in the past while rehabbing from his injury, but the Niners are hoping he can finally get past the hurdle this year. Even though Raheem Mostert, Tevin Coleman and Jeff Wilson Jr. are around, McKinnon could be the team's primary third-down back if he's finally healthy in 2020. But he'll need to prove himself to fantasy owners before he becomes a staple again in PPR leagues.
