Chicago Bears star quarterback Justin Fields has been one of the more fun to watch offensive players in the NFL since entering the league in 2021. The former Ohio State Buckeye has posted 5,313 passing yards and 35 passing touchdowns along with 1,800 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground in 33 games played.
Unfortunately, the 24-year-old has been banged, causing him to miss the last three weeks. Fantasy managers are surely wondering when the quarterback is expected to return.
When is Fields coming back to action? What is his fantasy football outlook when he returns?

Justin Fields Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Fields (thumb) originally suffered a thumb injury in the Week 6 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He exited the game and did not return. Fields has missed the last three weeks since the injury.
Fields did return to practice on Friday in a limited fashion, but it's a good sign that the quarterback was out practicing with an injury that seems to be dependent on pain tolerance. Head coach Matt Eberflus said that Fields was limited during Monday's walk-through practice and is considered day-to-day which shows some encouragement.
Chicago is unlikely to take any chances with its starting quarterback and with the Bears playing on Thursday night, so this is a situation worth monitoring. However, if Fields continues to practice throughout the week, Fantasy owners should feel confident about a return in Week 10.
Justin Fields Fantasy Football Outlook
Fields will have an interesting matchup against the Carolina Panthers if the quarterback gets the green light to return in Week 10 for Thursday Night Football.
With the beneficial matchup, Fields is a must-start if he returns to action. Even if he's not 100% healthy, he should have QB1 upside with the work he can get done on the ground game by using his legs. Fields was a top three quarterback in Weeks 4 and 5 where he threw for 617 yards, eight touchdowns, and just one turnover in the previous two games before injuring his thumb in Week 6.
Fields fantasy managers will have to try to find a replacement if the quarterback is not ready to return on Thursday but currently is trending in the right direction.
