Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert (hamstring) looked poised to save fantasy managers from the horrible depths of the tight end apocalypse that descended on the landscape through the first few weeks of the season. Unfortunately, he was struck by the dreaded hammy curse.
After efforts of 26.0 and 13.2 PPR fantasy points in Weeks 3-4, Goedert returned from his Week 5 bye primed for another big game before suffering a hamstring injury after just one target and being pulled from the game. He's now missed Weeks 6-8 of action. He wasn't placed on injured reserve, though.
In his place, TE Grant Calcaterra has put up two efforts with over 50 yards receiving. So, will Goedert still be Philly's starter when he returns?

Will Dallas Goedert Start For The Eagles When He Returns?
It's likely that he will be. There's not much reason he would lose his grip on the starting job after two solid performances. He was targeted over twice as many times in the two games of Weeks 3-4 than Calcaterra was through nearly three full games as the starter in the TE1's absence.

While his targets were unsustainable and likely due to the absence of one of the NFL's best wide receivers, A.J. Brown, it's obvious that No. 88 is the most talented tight end on the Eagles roster. He's had four top-15 finishes at the TE position in full PPR, indicating that he's regularly involved in the offense.
Dallas Goedert Fantasy Football Outlook
He should be a locked-in TE1 when he returns, though it would be unreasonable to expect his numbers from Weeks 3-4 to be sustainable. The No. 1 target in this offense is still Brown, and the seventh-year-pro TE also has to compete with excellent WR DeVonta Smith for targets.
Dallas Goedert will miss multiple weeks with a Hamstring injury.

It's unclear how much of a factor Calcaterra will be, though his play has at least warranted a second look. The second-stringer was targeted just five times during Weeks 1-4, though. If the past is any indicator of the future, the lion's share of TE receiving work should continue to go to the starter.
