BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team PPR Leagues
OWNED IN: 31% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: The Lions got embarrassed across the pond on Sunday morning by the Kansas City Chiefs. While this meant some good catchup mode work for Theo Riddick, it still didn’t translate to any points being scored or any real prime opportunities for Riddick. He ended the game with five rushes for 17 yards and six catches for 30 yards. That’ll play in PPR leagues, as even that paltry yardage effort managed to surpass 10 points in PPR formats.
The Lions aren’t going to consistently be good at football this year, and there are going to be plenty of opportunities for these catchup mode/garbage time receptions to get racked up by Riddick. If you’re really lucky, he may just take one of those catches into the end zone, but that should be considered a bonus. The Lions are going to take their bye week to really digest the new offensive coordinator’s system and hope to come out swinging a bit more in Week 10. The issue is that Week 10 is against the Packers, so that’s terrible news for most of the Detroit Lions’ organization, but shapes up great for Theo Riddick and his owners. Look for Riddick to get heavy usage again as the Lions trail for most of that game. Look for that to be true for most of the season.
