Vinnie Pasquantino
Kansas City Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino (shoulder) recently landed on the 10-day injured list after experiencing discomfort on Friday versus the Orioles. Nobody knows for sure how long he'll be out. However, the 25-year-old is scheduled for an MRI on Monday, so the team hopes to have a clearer picture of his prognosis.
Pasquantino is hitting .247 with nine home runs and 26 RBI this season, so he's been a stable presence in most fantasy formats. But for now, fantasy managers should keep him on the roster and hope for a positive update.
Yordan Alvarez
According to Astros general manager Dana Brown, designated hitter/outfielder Yordan Alvarez remains without a firm return date. It's "still up in the air a little bit," said Brown during an interview with a Houston radio station. "It will be a week at least to get a feel for how long it's going to be."
The slugger recently landed on the 10-day injured list because of a right oblique injury. However, fantasy managers should keep Alvarez stashed on their rosters at all costs, even if he's looking at a lengthy layoff. But that goes without saying.
Seiya Suzuki
Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki was not in the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the San Francisco Giants. Suzuki also missed Saturday's game but it's unclear if he's dealing with an injury or not. Suzuki is slashing .278/.367/.450 with six home runs, 19 RBI, and one stolen base across 180 at-bats for the season. Christopher Morel is starting in right field and batting third in place of Suzuki.
Tyler O'Neill
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Tyler O'Neill (back) is feeling pain-free and hopes to resume baseball activities on Thursday, per beat writer John Denton. O'Neill told reporters that he's pain-free after he received two cortisone injections and an epidural nerve block at the beginning of the month.
He was shut down from baseball activities for 10 days but he's feeling good now and said he hopes to continue his rehab this week. If all goes well, he should make it back to the Cardinals lineup towards the end of the month. The 27-year-old slugger has been out since May 5 while dealing with a lower back strain.
Charlie Blackmon
Colorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon (hand) has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a right-hand fracture. It's unclear how long the veteran outfielder will be out at this time but the team should have provided an update at the end of their game against the Padres on Sunday. The Rockies made a flurry of moves on Sunday but Blackmon hitting the injured list was the headliner.
Additionally, they selected the contract of infielder Coco Montes, optioned infielder Alan Trejo to Triple-A Albuquerque, recalled catcher Brian Serven from Triple-A, and transferred starting pitcher Antonio Senzatela to the 60-day injured list. From a fantasy perspective, Montes has an intriguing blend of power and speed but he can be left on the waiver wire outside the very deepest of NL-only leagues.
Eloy Jimenez
Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (calf) remained out of the starting lineup on Sunday against the Miami Marlins. Fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised in the slightest, as it was reported a few days ago that Jimenez was expected to miss at least a couple of games after injuring his left calf on Thursday. The White Sox aren't going to push the oft-injured 26-year-old and make it worse, and there's still a chance he'll need an injured-list stint.
Although he's never stolen a base in the big leagues, Jimenez has plenty of skills offensively after clubbing 31 home runs in his rookie season in 2019. He's currently batting .257 (35-for-136) with six doubles, six homers, and 24 RBI in 35 games played. Clint Frazier is starting in right field and hitting leadoff on Sunday against Marlins left-hander Braxton Garrett.
