AJ Pollock 2022 Player Outlook: Late Round Gem If Injuries Subside
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder AJ Pollock has been a steady, well-rounded producer for fantasy managers over the past two years. There have only been two things that have held him back: injuries and playing time. The Dodgers have had a crowded outfield the past few years, but the addition of the designated hitter spot in the National League should help temper any playing time concerns. It should allow Pollock to be a mainstay in the lineup when healthy - which brings us to the more significant concern. Injuries will remain a key risk for the 34-year-old. He has only reached 120 games in a season once since 2013. Last year, Pollock slashed .297/.355/.536 with 21 home runs, nine stolen bases, 69 RBI and 53 runs over 117 games. His .286 xBA ranked in the top 10% of the league and his 47.4% hard-hit rate (82nd percentile) was a career-best clip. Pollock projects to be an everyday player this year for the Dodgers if he can stay healthy. He's a great target in drafts just outside the top-200 to round out your outfield.
