Raiders Restructure Kenyan Drake's Contract
3 years agoThe Las Vegas Raiders restructured the contracts of running back Kenyan Drake and offensive lineman Kolton Miller on Thursday. The move will clear up $14.525 million in cap space for 2022. Las Vegas may have cleared up cap space to re-sign quarterback Derek Carr to a long-term extension. The Raiders and Carr recently have been working on a long-term deal, but negotiations with the quarterback haven't begun yet. Drake was limited to 12 games in 2021 after suffering a broken ankle in Week 13 versus Washington. He later underwent season-ending surgery on his right ankle. The 28-year-old rushed for 254 yards on 63 attempts and two touchdowns while hauling in 30 passes for 291 yards and a score in 2021. Drake is expected to be ready by OTAs and compete with starter Josh Jacobs for touches out of the Raiders backfield in 2022.
