Patriots, Dolphins Interested In Amari Cooper
3 years agoThe New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins are reportedly interested in signing wide receiver Amari Cooper if he's released by the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas reportedly is trying to deal Cooper, but there hasn't been any interest due to his high salary -- he's set to make $20 million in 2022. If released, Dallas would use the savings to re-sign both Michael Gallup and Cedrick Wilson. According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, "both the Patriots and Dolphins would have great interest in signing Amari Cooper if he's released." Patriots head coach Bill Belichick views Coopers as a "true No. 1" for quarterback Mac Jones, and he would instantly upgrade New England's wide receiver corps. The 27-year-old would give the Dolphins another top pass-catching option to go along with Jaylen Waddle and DeVante Parker. Cooper hauled in 68 passes on 104 targets for 865 yards and eight touchdowns in 15 games in 2021. Cooper would be a borderline WR2 if he winds up in New England or Miami. Stay tuned for further updates.
