3 years agoBoth Major League Baseball and the Players Association believe they've made many major concessions and the other side has made very few. Both sides believe the other side is being unreasonable, so we may be in for quite a wait for a new collective bargaining agreement to be finalized. The competitive balance tax remains the biggest issue/impediment to any deal. The owners are at $220 million this year to $230 million in 2026, while the players are at $238 million in 2022 and $263 million in 2026. The league didn't see much progress in the union's proposal on Sunday when the two sides met again. There is still a ways to go, and there's no word on when the two sides will meet again.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
