MLB, Players Union Disappointed After Tuesday's Meeting
3 years agoBoth sides of Major League Baseball's labor talks are disappointed after another meeting on Tuesday, with MLB now joining the players union in that regard. The Union offered a couple small changes -- lowering the bonus pool to $100 million from $105 million - but MLB remains at $10 million. The chances that spring training start on time on Feb. 14 are now remote. The sides didn't get to the other big issues up for debate on Tuesday, including the luxury tax or minimums for players with zero to three years of service time. As was reported on Monday, there is a sizable gap in multiple issues, and unless the two sides come to some agreements soon, the start of the regular season could be in jeopardy as well.
