Javonte Williams Doesn't Get Much Going Against Chargers
3 years agoDenver Broncos rookie running back Javonte Williams led the team with 14 carries in the Week 17 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, but he mustered only 30 rushing yards (2.1 yards per carry) and caught his only target in the passing game for two yards. It was an extremely disappointing day for Williams' fantasy managers against a Chargers run defense that has been one of the worst in the league all year. Backup quarterback Drew Lock played better than he did last week, but his presence under center hasn't helped get the running game going at all. The good news is Williams saw four more carries than teammate Melvin Gordon, but he just wasn't able to do anything with it. Williams remains the better upside play in fantasy than Gordon, and hopefully he'll be able to finish his impressive rookie season on a high note in Week 18 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
