Carson Wentz Will Start If He Clears COVID-19 Protocols
3 years agoIndianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich said that quarterback Carson Wentz will start on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders if he clears the COVID-19 protocols on his fifth day on Sunday. Wentz tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday and was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, but under the new league rules, he can come off the list and play after five days if he's asymptomatic, even without being vaccinated. The 28-year-old will miss the entire week of practice, however, and it's not like Wentz has been a QB1 all year for fantasy managers to begin with. Regardless of whether Wentz is active for Week 17, the Colts figure to run the ball a lot with MVP candidate Jonathan Taylor. If Wentz doesn't get cleared, rookie quarterback Sam Ehlinger would be in line to make his first career start.
