Dolphins To Continue With RB Competition
3 years agoMiami Dolphins co-offensive coordinator Eric Studesville said the team wants to continue with competition in the running back room. "All those guys are going to play and participate in the game plan," Studesville said. Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed returned from the COVID list for Week 15 against the New York Jets, but Duke Johnson saw 57.7% of the offensive snaps and carried 22 times for 107 yards and two touchdowns while Gaskin saw 36.6% of the snaps and carried 10 times for 54 yards. Ahmed didn't see the field at all. Miami will find it much harder to run the ball against the New Orleans Saints on Monday night in Week 16, and Gaskin could have a bigger role alongside Johnson after his big game. The Saints defense allows 96.6 rushing yards per game, the sixth-fewest in the NFL.
