Cowboys Optimistic About Tyron Smith For Week 11
3 years agoDallas Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith (ankle) is dealing with a bone spur in his ankle and will eventually need surgery, but the team thinks he has a good chance of playing in Week 11 against the Kansas City Chiefs. "I think he's got a real shot," executive vice president Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan on Monday. With Smith missing the last two games, Terence Steele has been the team's starting left tackle. Smith hasn't played in a full season since 2015 and has missed 28 games since the start of the 2016 season, so he just hasn't been able to stay on the field for Dallas consistently. Smith will need to get back on the practice field this week to have a chance at returning in Week 11 to face KC.
