3 years agoThe Carolina Panthers waived running back Royce Freeman and linebacker Clay Johnston on Monday and also placed center Matt Paradis (knee) and left tackle Cam Erving (calf) on Injured Reserve. Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) returned from Injured Reserve to play on Sunday for the first time since Week 3, so Freeman becomes the odd man out. The 25-year-old saw 21 carries for 77 yards and caught three of his six targets for 15 yards in eight games with the team this season before being let go. Behind McCaffrey and rookie Chuba Hubbard are Giovanni Ricci and Ameer Abdullah. Paradis suffered a torn ACL in the Week 9 loss to the New England Patriots and will miss the rest of the season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
