No Qualifying Offer For Clayton Kershaw
3 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers did not extend a qualifying offer to starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw was a candidate to receive a one-year, $18.4 million qualifying offer after completing his three-year, $93 million deal. It doesn't mean that the left-hander's tenure with the Dodgers is over after 14 years, as he could still return to the team on a separate deal in free agency. The three-time Cy Young winner and 2014 National League MVP didn't play in the playoffs due to forearm discomfort in his left arm, but he avoided ligament damage. It's unclear if the 33-year-old will be ready for the start of the 2022 season, and he posted a 3.55 ERA and 1.02 WHIP while striking out 144 and walking only 21 in 121 2/3 innings in 2021. We think there's still a pretty good chance that the Dodgers will try to bring Kershaw back next season.
