Chase Roullier Done For The Season
3 years agoWashington Football Team center Chase Roullier (leg) will undergo season-ending surgery after being diagnosed with a fractured fibula, according to a source. Roullier was placed on Injured Reserve on Tuesday, and his recovery is expected to take several months as he likely suffered ligament damage to his ankle. The 28-year-old starter fractured his left fibula in the Week 8 loss to the Denver Broncos. It's a blow to an already beat up offensive line, as Roullier had been the team's starting center since halfway through his rookie season in 2017. Tyler Larsen, who has started 18 career games but none since 2018, will replace Roullier. It'll be a downgrade for inexperienced quarterback Taylor Heinicke moving forward. Right guard Brandon Scherff (knee) has missed the last four games, while right tackle Sam Cosmi (ankle) has missed the last three games.
