Dak Prescott Will Be Inactive, Cooper Rush To Start
3 years agoDallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (calf) will be inactive on Sunday night against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8, according to a source. Backup Cooper Rush will get the start with Will Grier serving as his backup against Minnesota. Prescott's pre-game workouts did nothing to change the Cowboys mind after he suffered a strained calf at the end of the Week 6 win over the New England Patriots. The Week 7 bye week didn't help Prescott's chances of playing this week, but the good news is that Dallas is being overly cautious here, so Prescott should be able to play in Week 9. Rush will be making his first career start against the Vikings, so fantasy managers should be downgrading Dallas' pass-catching options for this game. Expect the Cowboys to lean heavily on running back Ezekiel Elliott as long as they don't fall too far behind on the scoreboard. On the bright side for the Cowboys offense, offensive tackle Tyron Smith (ankle) is active.
