Jordan Howard Works With Starters
3 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles running back Jordan Howard saw some practice repetitions with the starting offense this week and is likely to be elevated or signed to the active roster from the practice squad for the Week 8 game against the Detroit Lions after the team placed Miles Sanders (ankle) on Injured Reserve. Rookie Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott will also be involved in Philly's offense with Sanders sidelined, but Howard is another early down and short-yardage option for the Eagles, and he could even steal some valuable goal-line touches in an excellent matchup against the Lions this weekend. The 26-year-old's presence in the backfield will make it more difficult to rely on either Gainwell or Scott as flex options in a rushing attack that has done very little in 2021.
