3 years agoNew Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said there's "absolutely" a "high chance" that running back Mark Ingram II will make his season debut for the Saints in Week 8 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after the team acquired him from the Houston Texans on Wednesday. Ingram is expected to join the team at practice on Friday. The veteran will return to New Orleans and serve as Alvin Kamara's backup while Tony Jones Jr. (ankle) remains on Injured Reserve. Ingram could see short-yardage and goal-line work in an offense he's extremely familiar with, but he won't have much more fantasy value than he did in a committee approach in Houston and will be more of a touchdown-dependent RB4/flex in much deeper leagues.
