Jets Have Faith In Mike White
3 years agoThe New York Jets have faith in backup quarterback Mike White, who will take over the starting duties for at least Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals with rookie first-rounder Zach Wilson (knee) out two to four weeks. White went 20-for-32 for 202 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in his NFL debut in the Week 7 loss to the New England Patriots in relief of the injured Wilson. "We have a lot of faith in Mike," head coach Robert Saleh said. "That's why we kept him." The Jets also traded for experienced veteran Joe Flacco on Monday, so he could step in at some point if White struggles. White will handle all first-team repetitions in practice this week in preparation for his first career start against Cincy. The 26-year-old will be a desperation low-end QB2 in superflex leagues, and fantasy managers may want to downgrade New York's pass-catchers.
