3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie quarterback Trey Lance (knee) is "on pace" to return to practice on Wednesday after being inactive in the Sunday night loss to the Indianapolis Colts, but Jimmy Garoppolo will start in Week 8 against the Chicago Bears, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. Jimmy G was playing in rainy and wet conditions in the Week 7 loss, going 16-for-27 for 181 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions and a lost fumble. Garoppolo should fare better against a Bears defense that just allowed 38 points to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he'll need to play better consistently to hold off the rookie first-rounder once he's back to full health. Even in a better matchup versus Chicago this Sunday, Garoppolo will remain a low-upside, low-end QB2 for fantasy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
