Baker Mayfield Misses Practice Monday
3 years agoCleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) was not spotted at the portion of practice open to the media on Monday. Mayfield missed last Thursday's win over the Denver Broncos after being diagnosed with a complete labrum tear and a broken humerus bone in his left, non-throwing shoulder. The 26-year-old signal-caller will eventually require surgery that will sideline him anywhere from four to six months, but Mayfield and the team are hoping that can wait until after the season. It will depend on whether he can avoid any further dislocations, which could cause further structural damage to his shoulder. If Mayfield can't return in Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, backup Case Keenum would get another start. All of Cleveland's pass-catchers would need to be downgraded if Mayfield misses yet another game.
