Melvin Gordon III Finds End Zone For Third Time This Year
3 years agoDenver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III did very little on Thursday night in the 17-14 loss to the Cleveland Browns other than when he found the end zone on a nifty eight-yard touchdown reception. Gordon carried the ball eight times for only 18 yards (2.3 yards per carry) and caught two of three targets for 14 yards and his first receiving touchdown of the year. Gordon had four more carries than rookie Javonte Williams, but Williams caught four more passes and out-gained him from scrimmage 52 to 32 on the same amount of touches (10). Williams is more explosive and has more big-play ability, but Gordon isn't going anywhere heading into a Week 8 game against the Washington Football Team. This backfield remains a 50-50 split until further notice.
