3 years agoDespite the struggles of Carolina Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold in recent weeks, the Panthers are not in the mix to trade for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, according to sources familiar with the situation. The Panthers have had recent talks with Houston, but the talks weren't substantial. "I haven't done any work on anyone else. I believe Sam (Darnold) will be a great quarterback for the Carolina Panthers," head coach Matt Rhule said. It will take multiple first- and second-round picks for any team to land Watson, who is facing 22 active civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual misconduct and assault. Even if Watson were to be traded by the early November deadline, he's unlikely to play at all in 2021 and could be facing a lengthy suspension from the league next year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
