Jake Funk, Johnny Mundt Land On Injured Reserve
3 years agoLos Angeles Rams rookie running back Jake Funk (hamstring) and backup tight end Johnny Mundt (knee) will both go on Injured Reserve, according to head coach Sean McVay. Funk tore his hamstring in the Week 6 win over the New York Giants, while Mundt tore his ACL. Mundt will undergo season-ending surgery, while surgery has also been recommended for Funk. Mundt had been serving as the blocking tight end behind Tyler Higbee and had just one catch on the season. Jacob Harris will now serve as the immediate backup behind Higbee for the rest of the year. Funk had just one carry for six yards in his first six NFL games behind Darrell Henderson Jr. and Sony Michel, and he'll now miss the rest of his rookie season.
