Joe Mixon Gets In Some Work Wednesday
3 years agoCincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon (ankle) worked with the running backs in drills toward the end of media availability during the team's practice on Wednesday. It doesn't sound like Mixon got in a full practice, but he did get some work in. If he can increase his activity throughout the week, he should be able to play in Week 6 against the Detroit Lions after playing in a limited role in the Week 5 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Mixon carried the ball 10 times for 33 yards, but he saved his fantasy day with a touchdown. Samaje Perine had a team-high 15 carries, but he is now on the COVID-19 list. A fully healthy Mixon would be a must-start against the winless Lions. If Mixon is limited again, rookie Chris Evans could have a much bigger role if Perine doesn't get cleared to play.
