Panthers Hopeful Christian McCaffrey Can Play Sunday
3 years agoCarolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule said that he's "hopeful" that running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) can play in Week 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles, but Rhule also said the team won't put him in any danger. CMC is headed for a game-time decision on Sunday morning after missing the Week 4 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. If the 25-year-old do-it-all running back returns, he needs to be returned to all starting fantasy lineups against an Eagles defense that has allowed 455 rushing yards and four total touchdowns to RBs in four games. Rookie Chuba Hubbard saw his first NFL start last week and had 71 scrimmage yards on 15 touches. He'll be on the RB2/3 borderline if McCaffrey misses his second straight game.
