Robbie Gould Goes On IR, 49ers Sign Joey Slye
3 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers placed kicker Robbie Gould (groin) on Injured Reserve on Tuesday and signed Joey Slye to kick in Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals, according to a source. Gould strained his groin before the Week 4 loss to the Seattle Seahawks and will now be out for at least three games. The 38-year-old had attempted only four field goals in three games, so he wasn't of much use to fantasy managers. Slye was the Houston Texans kicker for the first three weeks of this season, making four of his five field-goal tries and seven of eight extra points. Fantasy managers should steer clear of San Francisco's kicking situation right now, especially since they're unlikely to have the luxury of kicking many field goals against the undefeated Cardinals this Sunday.
