Alex Collins Unlikely To Take On A Bigger Role
3 years agoSeattle Seahawks running back Alex Collins is typically used when Chris Carson needs a breather during the game. Travis Homer is the back of choice in obvious passing situations. Carson just didn't have it in the Week 4 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, which is why Collins saw 17 second-half snaps to Carson's 11. Collins has made the most of his limited opportunities this year; he's second behind Carson with 8.12 Expected Points Added on offense. However, Collins is essentially in the position that Rashaad Penny was before his injury: He's the clean-up back behind Carson. The 27-year-old vultured a touchdown on Sunday and is an excellent complement to Carson, but he probably won't develop any standalone fantasy value unless Carson goes down with an injury.
