Melvin Gordon III Leads The Backfield In Week 4
3 years agoDenver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III led the team in rushing in the 23-7 Week 4 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, carrying the ball nine times for 56 yards. He also caught two of his four targets for 11 additional yards. Gordon had two more carries and eight more rushing yards than rookie Javonte Williams on the day. Denver's backfield would have probably had a better game if not for negative game script in the second half and with quarterback Drew Lock relieving an injured Teddy Bridgewater (head). Gordon and the rookie have been in a near-even timeshare through four weeks, and that isn't likely to change in Week 5 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, even if Lock is forced to make the start.
