3 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani will not take the mound again this year, according to Angels manager Joe Maddon. He will only serve as a hitter the rest of the way. Ohtani's 2021 season as a pitcher comes to an end with a 9-2 record, a 3.18 ERA, a 1.09 WHIP and a 29.3% strikeout rate. His two-way abilities have made him a one-of-a-kind asset in many fantasy leagues this year. For anyone still alive amidst championship week, he should still help with some sturdy offensive numbers the rest of the way.
