Tommy La Stella Exits With Achilles Discomfort On Tuesday
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants second baseman Tommy La Stella (Achilles) was removed in the sixth inning of Tuesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. After the game, Giants manager Gabe Kapler told reporters that La Stella was experiencing Achilles discomfort. He said that La Stella was feeling limited both on the base paths and on defense. His removal in the game came when he was on third base. Donovan Solano came in to run for him. Any mention of an Achilles for an athlete is a scary thing. He will be reevaluated on Wednesday, at which point we'll know more about the severity of the injury. Solano would serve as the team's primary second baseman if La Stella is forced to miss time.
