Giovani Bernard Day-To-Day With MCL Sprain
3 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers running back Giovani Bernard (knee) suffered a slight MCL sprain on a goal-line collision and flip in the Week 3 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, according to a source. Bernard is day-to-day and his status is up in the air for Week 4 against the New England Patriots on Sunday night. He had his best game of the year with the Bucs playing in comeback mode, catching nine of his 10 targets for 51 yards and a touchdown. Bernard didn't record a single carry behind Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones II, however. Coming into the game, he had only four catches for 28 yards in two games. Bernard is clearly Tampa's best pass-catching back, but he'll only be on the field enough to matter when the Bucs are playing from behind, and he could be a game-time decision next Sunday night.
