3 years agoWashington Nationals catcher Keibert Ruiz is getting a breather during Wednesday's game against the Miami Marlins. Alex Avila is drawing the start behind the plate and batting seventh in the game. Ruiz has been swinging a hot bat lately. He's gone 11-for-21 over his past five games, tallying six RBI and four runs along the way. Ruiz was acquired from the Dodgers at the trade deadline in the blockbuster deal that sent Trea Turner and Max Scherzer to Los Angeles. He was promoted by the Nationals in late August and has slashed .278/.328/.315 over 15 games with the team.
