3 years agoTampa Bay Rays infielder Joey Wendle is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against Julian Merryweather and the Toronto Blue Jays. Taylor Walls is getting the start at shortstop and batting ninth in the game. Wendle has continued to be a steady and consistent producer for the Rays lately. He's reached base in six straight games and he's slashing .258/.333/.419 over the month of September as a whole. He has career-highs in home runs (11) and runs scored (69) this season.
