Denzel Mims Buried On Depth Chart
3 years agoNew York Jets wide receiver Denzel Mims is currently the fifth wide receiver on the depth chart, and head coach Robert Saleh said that Mims was a healthy scratch in the Week 2 loss to the New England Patriots because he doesn't play special teams. And that was with veteran Jamison Crowder (groin) inactive on Sunday, so Mims is basically the sixth wideout behind Corey Davis, Crowder, Keelan Cole, Braxton Berrios and rookie Elijah Moore. Jeff Smith is the team's gunner on special teams, so even he was active over Mims. The second-rounder in 2020 played only three snaps in the season opener and caught just one pass for 40 yards in Week 1 with both Crowder and Cole out. At this point, it's becoming hard to justify holding Mims in even dynasty/keeper leagues.
