Michael Carter (RB, NYJ) - Week 3 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: The hype was high around the freshest New York Jets' running back Michael Carter entering Draft SZN. And his current 50% rostership in Yahoo leagues speaks about that. Most of Carter's fantasy GMs, though, were very disappointed to find the rusher playing only 16 snaps in Week 1 (25% snap share) in a putrid 3.0-PPR-point debut. Then Week 2 happened and we all (yes, I have my fair share of Mike C) celebrated together.

The 10.8 PPR points Carter put up on Sunday against New England are not going to win you nor anyone his or her fantasy league, that's for sure. But knowing that Gang Green had more than a rough game against the Patriots, it's not that we could have asked the rookie rusher for much more. Carter scored his 10+ FP thanks to a 59-rushing-yard performance on 11 carries to which he was able to add 29 yards through the air catching 2-of-3 targets from oft-intercepted fellow-rookie QB Zach Wilson (4 interceptions Sunday...)

The most promising thing going Carter's way was his rise in snap share, going from a measly 25% to a much healthier 45% in W2. He was the most-present rusher among Jets at the position, tying in snaps with Ty Johnson and edging Tevin Coleman (only 7 snaps for a 10 Snap%). Carter, as the rookie he is, will need to keep proving his worth if he wants to stay on the field and get more reps, but so far he has not been atrocious at it. The Jets will be down in the scoreboard for like 95% of their snaps which will limit Carter's opportunities, but he should make for a good flier and FLEX starter for squads part of deeper-format leagues.
