Casey Mize Gives Up One Run Over Three Frames
3 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Casey Mize had another short outing against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday. He pitched three innings and allowed three hits, one walk and one earned run while striking out three. The Tigers have been closely managing Mize's load throughout September. The 53 pitches he threw in Friday's start were the most he's thrown so far this month. He threw a total of 82 pitches over his previous two starts. The 24-year-old has gone 7-8 with a 3.64 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP over 28 starts on the year. He'll make his next start on Wednesday against the Chicago White Sox.
