Willie Calhoun Activated And Starting On Wednesday
3 years agoThe Texas Rangers have activated outfielder Willie Calhoun (arm) from the injured list. He is playing designated hitter and batting second in Wednesday's game against Jose Urquidy and the Houston Astros. Calhoun was out for about two and a half months after breaking his arm. He played in 59 games with the Rangers before the injury and slashed .254/.323/.385 with five home runs, 19 RBI and 23 runs. He could have some fantasy value in deep leagues or AL-only leagues in the final weeks of the season if he sees regular playing time. The Rangers demoted fellow outfielder Jason Martin to Triple-A to clear space for Calhoun.
