Jake Cronenworth Takes Batting Practice On Tuesday
3 years agoSan Diego Padres infielder Jake Cronenworth (finger) is taking part in batting practice prior to the team's game against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday. According to AJ Cassavell of MLB.com, the Giants are hopeful that Cronenworth will return for this weekend's series against the St. Louis Cardinals. The 27-year-old has been out since last Friday when he was hit on the left hand by a Julio Urias pitch. Fernando Tatis Jr. has been manning shortstop in Cronenworth's absence, but Tatis will likely move back to the outfield once Cronenworth is back. Additionally, Tommy Pham and Wil Myers are both likely to see decreased playing time once Cronenworth returns.
