Damien Harris Has Confidence Of Running Backs Coach
3 years agoNew England Patriots running back Damien Harris had a strong overall game in Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins. He rushed the ball 23 times for 100 yards and caught two of his three targets for 17 yards. However, he had a costly fumble late in the game that allowed the Dolphins to seal their victory. On Tuesday, Patriots running backs coach Ivan Fears expressed his support and confidence in Harris, saying that Harris will "step up to the plate" while also adding, "We have not had a problem with him." Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is widely known for his disdain of fumbles and it remains to be seen how much (if at all) Harris will be penalized for the miscue. James White was the only other Patriot with more than one carry this past Sunday, but he's never been trusted with a sturdy rushing load. Preseason star Rhamondre Stevenson would seem like the next logical choice behind Harris, but Stevenson lost a fumble on Sunday. For now, fantasy managers should still plan for Harris to see around 20 touches per game, enabling him to be a solid RB2 option.
