Brandon Lowe Dealing With Leg Soreness
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays second baseman Brandon Lowe (leg) is out of the starting lineup for the second straight day on Monday. Rays manager Kevin Cash told reporters that Lowe's "legs are beat up." Cash said that Lowe is available off the bench for Monday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays, but Cash is attempting to give Lowe some time to rest his legs. Joey Wendle is making his second consecutive start at second base on Monday. Lowe has been mashing for over two months now. He had an OPS of 1.032 in July, then went on to slash .262/.328/.598 with nine home runs and 26 RBI in August. It sounds as if there's a good chance Lowe will be back in the starting lineup on Tuesday, though he may see some additional rest days going forward.
